Sunday Night Alive

New schedule of activities for all ages

Why transform our Wednesday evening programming into Sunday Night Alive? We have three motivations:
Timing: We believe that early Sunday evening is a better time for families than Wednesday evening because of the hectic schedules most of us have.
Creative programming: We want to have short studies or activities for about five weeks and then come together with an intergenerational event, such as a picnic, a festival, or a mission activity.
Outreach: We want to offer attractive events that could draw our local community at a convenient time.

A new approach to family programming

Beginning September 14, Sunday Night Alive will take place from 5:00–7:00 p.m. each week. We’ll have choirs and mission activities for children and preschoolers, mission activities for youth, and several options for adults. Among adult programs for fall will be parent support groups, enrichment sessions for engaged and married couples, hot-topic discussions, handcraft groups, Bible studies, and mission activities in the community.

(Note: You’ll need to register for the “Youth Parents Under Stress” and “Couple Enrichment” sessions. Call the church office or e-mail OfficeManager@vbc-va.org.)

Sunday Night Alive for children

Following a brief snack supper, children will experience:
• BibleZone Live!—an active Bible story−centered resource that brings the Bible to life for children as they become involved with each story.
• Choir—songs, games, and activities that build skills in music making and bring children’s faith home to the heart.
