Vienna Baptist Church - a family of faith on the journey of life

Becoming Disciples at VBC

Formation for the journey

Our spiritual formation as followers of Jesus Christ involves growing on the inward journey of individual spiritual growth and on the collective outward journey of mission and social justice.

We are called to grow in every dimension of our lives as Christ’s disciples: in daily work, home and family life, devotional practices, spiritual direction, home discipleship groups, and more.

• Softball—A coed team plays in a recreational league from late spring through mid-summer.
• Tennis—Periodically we have an intergenerational tennis party indoors at a tennis club in Falls Church.

Retreats at Lost River Retreat Center
Trees in fall Early in our history, camping and retreating became an important part of Vienna Baptist Church’s life and ministry. In 1980, we acquired the 43-acre Lost River Retreat Center in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia.

VBC ministries at LRRC include regular weekend experiences for various age groups: three youth retreats, week-long summer children’s camp, families with youth, family camping, young families, young adults, leadership planning, and more.

We also offer camping experiences to inner-city youth in cooperation with the Johenning Baptist Community Center, a ministry of the D.C. Baptist Convention. Lost River Retreat Center also provides its facilities at an affordable cost to numerous other groups for conferences and seminars, couples’ retreats, children’s camps, youth retreats, planning retreats, and reunions.
