Vienna Baptist Church - a family of faith on the journey of life

Vienna Baptist Children's Center

A ministry of Vienna Baptist Church, the Vienna Baptist Children’s Center is a high-quality early childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development of young children while responding to the needs of families.

VBCC teaches that God is a loving God who made the world, loves all people, and expects us to love and care for each other. The school provides a multiethnic environment of books, pictures, music, dolls, and toys. Prayer, religious songs, Bible stories, and the teaching of Christian values are included in our curriculum.

Begun in 1971 as a Mother’s Day Out program, VBCC has grown into a developmental school serving 150 children a week from 127 families, served by a staff of 32—16 teachers, 12 teaching assistants, and four administrative staff. Together, the families and staff are culturally diverse, representing 13 countries from six continents.

Children ages 3 months through 5 years are welcome at VBCC, which is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. VBCC also serves special needs children.

Cooperative program

Parents are an important part of VBCC. We provide Parent Helper Training Workshops, which all new parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Offered in October, these workshops are beneficial to all parents.

Each parent is expected to work in the classroom a set number of days each year, according to the number of days the child attends VBCC. The VBCC Office Manager schedules parents to work, and a Cooperative Calendar is sent out at the middle of each four-week period.
